what is the birthright project?

birthright project is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that builds ventures designed to expand access to health, capital, and digital opportunity across AF/LAC and the diaspora. our active ventures include happy sunday, softerbread, and mmaadd. 100% of venture profits go back into community impact.

how does the model work?

each venture earns revenue through the value it creates. that revenue funds operations and, as ventures grow, returns profit to the communities they serve. while ventures are proving themselves, donations through the oxygen fund fill the gap. the model compounds over time.

what makes birthright different from a traditional nonprofit?

birthright builds ventures designed to create long-term community value. the model combines donations, partnerships, and revenue-generating ventures that recycle profits back into impact.

is my donation tax-deductible?

yes. birthright project inc. is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit charitable organization (ein: 99-3166732). all donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by u.s. law. you will receive a receipt for your records. give to the oxygen fund →

how do i get involved?

most people start in one of three ways: partner with a venture, support the oxygen fund, or join the collective. if you are not sure where you fit, start here.

the birthright collective — fondly known as distant cousins — is a growing network of builders, artists, operators, educators, advisors, and community leaders helping move the work forward. if you want to join the collective, start here.

birthright works through active relationships across africa, latin america, the caribbean, and the diaspora — with key points of connection including atlanta, new york, lagos, abuja, nairobi, kingston, mexico city, and bogotá.
