we’re building permissionless paths to economic dignity.

birthright project creates programs, ventures and partnerships that build lasting change — starting where it’s needed most.

about birthright project.

the birthright project is a nonprofit organization building tech-powered pathways to health, wellbeing, and economic mobility in communities long excluded from opportunity.

we design systems, ventures, and community platforms that strengthen capacity, expand access, and return value back to the people we serve.

our impact spans africa, the caribbean, and the united states, connecting global resources with local ingenuity to build systems that help communities thrive on their own terms.

why we exist.

  1. because economic dignity should not depend on geography, ancestry, or luck.

  2. because communities deserve tools, technology, and infrastructure that enable them to grow.

  3. because prosperity is a human right.

  4. birthright exists to bridge continents, communities, and generations.

  5. we design ventures that give back everything they earn.

  6. we build pathways that expand possibility.

  7. we imagine a world where dignity is not the outcome — it is the starting point.

platforms for impact

the birthright project is built on two platforms:

birthright labs, where new systems for innovation and impact are created, and birthright foundation, which brings together the people and support that help these systems take root across the u.s., africa, the caribbean, and the diaspora.

birthright labs
social enterprise studio

birthright labs is the creative and operational engine of our ecosystem. it is where new ideas are designed, tested, and launched. labs builds community-centered ventures using lean global studios, a rotating cast of talent, and rapid, locally grounded experimentation. every venture inside labs is rooted in dignity, access, and long-term possibility.

birthright foundation
community+capital+capacity

the birthright foundation is the platform that steadies and strengthens everything created in labs. it brings together our collective of supporters—fondly known as distant cousins—and the birthright fund, which helps early ventures grow and stay active in the communities they serve. the foundation provides continuity, connection, and long-term backing for the systems we build.

our focus areas.

  • community wellbeing

We invest in access to quality healthcare, education, and digital tools—everything people need to shape their own future. When individuals are healthy, educated, and connected, they are empowered to make better decisions, create opportunities, and lead change.

  • economic dignity

We support pathways that increase income, unlock ownership, and ensure fair access to capital. We believe that true dignity comes from building, not just surviving. We help communities grow through entrepreneurship and access to long-term investments, allowing individuals and families to increase what they earn and own.

the villge behind birthright project

our birthright collective — fondly known as distant cousins — is made up of directors, advisors, funders, cheerleaders, and sponsors who power the birthright project.

we are united by a shared belief that economic dignity is a human right.
